At The Daniel M. Foundation we understand the struggles that families like Johnny’s face every day. Too many families like Johnny’s are hurting.
All of our services were created out of concern, understanding, and respect for families like Johnny's, who have children struggling with emotional and behavioral health needs. Our program planning is centered completely on the special needs of these children. The Daniel M. Foundation also focuses on total family care, and encourages family preservation by providing strength and support to families in crisis. These tough times don't have to hurt. There is hope-- and it can start here. We have structured these services to support families daily individual needs by offering a safe and nurturing environment.
All of our services employ a proven model of care that insures a safe, nurturing, positive environment that teaches replacement behavior and alternative ways for children to cope with behavioral challenges. Our After School program uses this same model while providing homework suppor in the form of specialized tutoring to assist with building fluency in reading and math and structured group social skill development. |

By the time Johnny was in second grade, he had a history that was growing as fast as he was--an overactive little boy, five daycare facilities in one year, difficulty adjusting to change, too many days in detention at school. Tension and frustration built when he was sent home from school. His parents and teachers were losing their patience with him. He had schoolwork he kept getting behind in and classmates and pals he couldn't keep up with. He wasn't trying to be bad or make people angry ... things just happened. Johnny felt that no one understood.
And maybe Johnny was right ... |
