"Building Strong Families" provides a vital avenue for parents and caregivers to get the education and training they require to better understand and relate to their child.
In addition to respite relief and prevention programs, parents and caregivers can expect to find the following support through Camp Holiday Children’s Center and Applied Behavior Concepts Pre-K and the CATCH After School program.
These services include:
Support and coping skills reinforcement
Special behavioral training, techniques, and information
Effective problem solving assistance and examples
"Building Strong Families" Camp Holiday's Parenting class is mandatory for the parents that use the services at Camp Holiday. This is a ten (10) hour class. The parents come for two (2) hours per week for 5 weeks.
This is available to the community for a fee. Please contact the office for more information at 772-466-0051.
Parent Training is a twice-monthly meeting that will reinforce and develop strategies learned in training, and provide education and information needed to assist with any difficulties that the parents may need assistance with regarding school and community issues. Please watch for the sign-up sheets at the front desk on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month.
Referral and Resource Library: Camp Holiday provides needed referral resources, and an information library for the parents, just ask a staff member to help you find what you need!
The Center focuses on a strong and positive family support system. Important opportunities for socializing help family members interact and meet other families experiencing similar situations. Support groups and workshops allow families to share experiences and explore problem-solving solutions with other families. |
